Description

Participants in this workshop will pick out pre-made porcelain pieces to glaze with unique patterns and designs. This is inspired by our Silk Road Artisans program, which focuses on the study of blue-and-white porcelain, a frequently traded commodity along the Silk Road. Students learn about the exchange of goods on the Silk Road and the impact cross-cultural collaboration has had around the globe, including in the Utica area. Each workshop will focus on different porcelain forms glazed with cobalt blue and clear, including vases and platters.

*Porcelain pieces will be fired and can be picked up two weeks later.

Ages 16 and up. Limit 4 participants per class.
